But they are not my typical “best shots” from 2010. Instead, they are taken in situations where I have been with people I care about and people that inspire me… and these snapshots of course bring out good memories :)

"Look towards the end goal"

Before starting out the wedding photography journey February last year, I used lots of time preparing myself, both technically and mentally for what I really wanted to do with my photographic skills; capturing the moments for two people on their most important day. Before having a single wedding booked in January 2010, I imagined a certain number of weddings I would photograph during 2010. A number that I actually thought would be way to ambitious. And now, in the beginning of 2011, I can look back and see that I actually managed to reach my overly ambitious goal! But more important; I have met new fabulous people and experienced a lot new things!

Try to write down your own personal goal for 2011, and follow your dream! :)

"Keep the right things in focus!"

I have decided that 2011 for me will be a year where I will be looking forward to new and exciting possibilites, both with my family and at work (both in photography and “my real work”). But I also want to make sure that achievements in 2011 are not only my own “egocentric” goals; I want to share positive happenings in 2011 with my family and my friends, the ones I love.

With this blog post I wanted to give you a glimpse of what contributes to make my life complete… :)

The summer started really fun with photographing the wedding of Arne and Janicke, which were previewed on my blog earlier this summer. The full post of their wedding is also underway.

After the great start,  I have enjoyed some really relaxing days with my family, travelling around, meeting lots of great friends I haven’t met for a long time. I have simply had a great summer holiday! I have also taken a lot of pictures… I will upload some more in the weeks to follow :)

So a little blog post showing these pictures feels just right.

I love the little love story between father and son being expressed through these snapshots. I love the “casual” feeling… and the light that day gave the pictures an extra “snap” :)

Not sure if the expression on the little one in the lower right photo is caused by something really exciting… or if it’s just a yawn due to a boring photographer :)

This little ballerina had her first performance together with the rest of the girls in her dance group in front of more than 800 spectators in Olavshallen this weekend … it was a amazing experience, both for the little one and her parents! And being allowed to wear make-up seemed to make her day :)

These are photos taken after we finished the cold (!!) outdoor photo session. I think especially Maria were happy to come into a warm studio :D And what natural models they both were! We had really fun in the studio-session as well. You were so easy couple to photograph!

Just as we were wrapping up the studio session, Maria suggest we got out in the cold again… I think she wanted to get some kind of last shot with the sunset. It was quite cloudy, and it was almost getting dark… but utilizing my off-camera flash, shooting it into a studio umbrella, we managed to get this shot, that I think became kind of cool :)

Thanks to Erlend’s best man for being my human umbrella stand! :)

Maria and Erlend; I am really happy that I got the chance to photograph your wedding. And it was such a bliss getting to know you! :)
