The wedding was set in a wonderful winter scene. Even if the sun were hidden behind clouds and fog almost all day; just as the two lovebirds were about to finish the wedding ceremony, the sun worked its way through the clouds, and gave the newly wed couple a glimpse of the setting sun as they walked out of the church.

Even if it was cold, we had a really great photo session after the ceremony. I’ve said it before, but you guys are so easy going and fun to photograph!

Just wanted to share a couple of shots taken while preparing for three(!) weddings I am going to photograph in February. I am really excited about getting the opportunity to capture the most important day for some really wonderful couples :) I have always found a lot of inspiration in wedding photography, and can’t wait to get going :)

This is a shot taken this summer on one of my Stavanger-trips. There was going to be a concert in the Stavanger Cathedral later that night, and NRK, the largest norwegian TV producer had created a beautiful light inside the church. The TV-crew had just finished the last rehersal before the show, and were standing outside the church smoking when I went into the open cathedral :-)

The picture is taken with a relatively slow shutter (1/15) and ISO 1600 … Used a 20D and the 18-55mm kit-lens.

Working on my Photoshop-skills… tried out a new tutorial for smoothing out skin on people… still not getting it perfect, but managed to get a pretty decent frame out of this one… Check out this tutorial if interested.

Using masks and blur-filters in Photoshop for smoothing skin on selected areas… I guess some more practice is needed. In addition, I created a slightly over-exposed look (so it’s on purpose :-) the original was decent exposed, I think)…

Captured with natural light one early morning, using my 450D and my 50mm f1.8 (yes, I really like this lens for portraits :-) )

We have “borrowed” a cat for some time lately… actually to test if its ok with a cat in the house, not bringing out allergic reactions to the kids… Unfortunately, it seems that it’s better for the kids not having a cat in the house…

Anyway.. took a snapshot of her earlier this week… She is extremely cosy and patient when the kids are playing with her… and she is very cute :-)

450D and my 50mm f1.8 in low light conditions indoors one late evening.. Adjusted whitebalance by using the custom BW-function in the camera to avoid reddish glow in the picture…

We had a lot of great restaurant-experiences in our latest trip to NY and Long Island… Created a simple collage of some of the snapshots I took of the food my travel companions ate while waiting for my own food :-) Porterhouse Steak on Rothmans on Long Island is still a favourite :-)

I had scheduled a trip to Stavanger some time in October (which means I have to get up at about 05.00 a.m, in order to catch my early flight), and woke (for some strange reason :-D ) up hours before I actually had to get up… there was a pretty clear sky, and the moon was just beautiful. So instead of getting  back to sleep, I put up my tripod, and tried to get some nice captures of the moon… (ok… I am strange… at least I am willing to offer some sleep for some nice moon-shots :-) )

I was using my 70-200L f4 lens when trying to capture the moon (200mm (equivalent to 323mm on my 450D with 1.6 crop-factor) is actually a bit too little when it comes to focal lenghts for capturing the moon… I guess I have to get hold of a teleconverter or a lens with larger zoom…

Anyway… These skies weren’t visible when looking at the moon when I took this shot, but my camera captured these flaring skies, and it turned out a little interesting, I think :-) I like the light and the colors…

It’s 1st of November, and in the area where my parents live, the water is starting to freeze on one of the small ponds nearby. Stopped for some quick shots while driving by yesterday… Even if it’s cold during winter here in Norway, its also very beautiful :-)
